Welcome to our web page!
We hope the information here is clear and helpful to you. We value any comments you would like to make and we encourage you to make use of the resources available here and through the links to other Christian sites.

If you are looking for a church in this community, we want you to know that you are more than welcome to visit us. Our service times are published here including any special activities. If you are not familiar with the rural Sinking Spring area, you should contact us for directions—our campus is beautiful, but not easy to find the first time. In fact, if you have any questions, please feel free to email us, or give me a call at:

I would be happy to talk with you.

Sincerely,

A Word from Shelley

IFebruary was really busy! But the simulcast was great and we it was really exciting to see the impact the Pennsylvania Christian Teen Convention had on our kids.

Our focus in March will be on missions! I will be preaching about this and during the last weekend of the month, we’ll recommit to it.

I’ve been experimenting with The City for over a month now and I am certainly seeing the possibilities. We have over 50 of you signed up, which means this is gradually working. Many of you are probably still just trying to figure it out, but be patient. Our congregation is so scattered and busy that this will really pay dividends for us as we get more people connected and all of us begin to find things that work for us. Of course, I really want to thank the “early adopters” out there. Tim and I have been posting our sermon ideas on topic threads and it has been fascinating to hear from you. We’ve got a long way to go, but I can see that our preaching could become a lot more focused by just hearing from you about your experiences and your questions as we prepare. I’ve also started posting some of my journal thoughts (adapted so they make more sense for others!). You can access them by looking on The City Plaza or by just looking me up on the site.

The City is Here!!!

Have you signed up for The City yet? Stop by the kiosk in the lobby or go to hcc.onthecity.org and click “Need an Account?” to sign up! We already have over 40 people signed up, so don’t miss out!

2011 Faith Promise Mission Weekend  ~ March 26 - 27

Our church has always been aboutmore than just Hillside—
we’ve intentionally stretched and sacrificed to enable God’s work around the world.
Once a year, we recommit to this important task at our Mission Weekend.
As you can tell by the flags and displays in the foyer,
we support missionaries and projects all over the globe, beginning in Berks County.
Our mission program is a mix of benevolence and direct support missions
that connects us with people and needs outside our immediate community.
Even with the demands of our building project and our expanding ministry here,
we must not lose sight of the bigger picture.

So what are we doing this year?

Here’s the schedule for Saturday evening, March 26:
5:30 PM................. Dinner in the Fellowship Hall for Everyone Featuring Latin American Food
6:30 PM..................Pioneer Bible Translators
Jeff Jackson will be explaining the work and mission of Pioneer Bible Translators around the world

Here’s the schedule for Sunday morning, March 27:
9:15 AM..................Orchard Group
Greg Hubbard will bring us up to date on church planting in the Northeast and around the United States,
especially explaining how Orchard Group facilitates this
10:30 AM................Greg Hubbard,
Preaching Collection of Faith-Promise Commitment Cards

Congratulations to Tim Baker on his Ordination

Ruth Baker, Tim & Amy Baker

On January 23rd, Tim Baker was officially installed as our first Associate Minister. We are so glad to have Tim and Amy here, and it was great to have Tim’s mother here that day, as well. In the picture, Tim is holding the ordination certificate, recognizing that he was also ordained by the church into the Christian Ministry on that same day.
